The project is a complementary development of the International Research Centre project in association with Fraunhofer Gesellschaft, by virtue of the contract signed on 24th September 2008 in the field of development and application of laser, special and hybrid technologies

Technologies available in our laboratory are:

• Laser and Plasma Technologies,
• Microscopy & Measurement,
• Computed Tomography,
• Process Monitoring,
• Material Tests,
• Precision Processing.

The aim of the project is to identify and optimize relevant parameters of laser powder metallurgy processes applied to manufacturing spatial and layer structures. The destiny of developed technologies is to use them in:

• Industrial applications, including manufacturing of highly advanced structures with properties impossible to attain using classic manufacturing techniques, inner spatial structures and functional layers with specific physical properties and mechanical parts of constructions exposed to harsh work conditions, corrosive environment and high mechanical loads,
• Medical applications, involving manufacturing of implants and prostheses. The development of laser manufacturing technologies and processing of structures used in medicine will increase their biocompatibility and mechanical strength.

Within the framework of our cooperation we carry out research into determining the effect of raw material on the properties of final product, as well as determining powder segregation by virtue of grain size and determining the effect of segregated grains on final properties of a product
